In 2001 the artist David Buckland created Cape Farewell to instigate a cultural response to the climate challenge. Cape Farewell is an international not-for-profit programme working internationally to bring creatives, scientists and informers together to stimulate a cultural narrative that will engage and inspire a sustainable and vibrant future society.

Using creativity to innovate, they engage artists for their ability to evolve and amplify a creative language, communicating on a human scale the urgency of the global climate challenge.

They ask the best creative minds to engage with this challenge and to build a vision for a sustainable future.

Suba was Co-Education Director of Cape Farewell and an integral part of a team that brought young people, artists, scientists, educators and journalists to raise awareness about climate change. During this time she helped organise two voyages to the High Arctic and wrote resources for the science and geography curricula.
